Giving Tuesday 2025
On Giving Tuesday, generosity spreads. And today, it started in the kitchen. This year, our Giving Tuesday theme is all about generosity spreading how one act of care can ripple outward and strengthen an entire community. At Families In Transition, we believe generosity isn’t just something you give… it’s something you share, something you
grow, and something you practice together. To honor that spirit, our team spent the morning volunteering at Loaves and Fishes in Watsonville, helping prepare and serve meals for our neighbors. We wanted to put our hands, our time, and our people power where our values are especially during a season when many families are struggling.

At The Heart of Community is Resilience 2025
On March 29, 2025, Families In Transition of Santa Cruz County hosted its 1st Annual Fundraiser, At the Heart of Community is Resilience, at Watsonville Public House. The evening brought together community members, local partners, and supporters who believe that housing stability strengthens families and our entire county. Guests enjoyed food, local beer, raffle prizes, and meaningful conversation all in support of keeping families safely housed.
The event marked the launch of the FIT Resilience Fund, designed to provide flexible support for families navigating housing instability during times of funding volatility. Thanks to the generosity of our community, the evening was a powerful reminder that when systems falter, community resilience steps forward

The Strawberry Festival:
The Strawberry Festival is a yearly event that is held close to our hearts. With the event being held in our backyard, right next to our office building, we have come to celebrate this yearly tradition staff-wide. Our Strawberry-Dessert Kabobs have become a popular food item we have been able to bring to the event year after year. If you would like to volunteer for the upcoming Strawberry Festival, please email cristian@fitsantacruz.org

Turkey Guys
Each year, Families In Transition receives a generous and kindhearted donation from a group of friends we like to call “The Turkey Guys.” Year after year, this group of men come together to donate multiple meals to families who may otherwise not be able to get a warm thanksgiving dinner. Once delivered to one of FIT’s satellite locations, FIT staff members volunteer their time to distribute the meals to our participating families. If you would like more information about how you may be able to assist or get involved, please email cristian@fitsantacruz.org

Giving Tuesday
“GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give.” To pledge a yearly donation for Giving Tuesday, please email cristian@fitsantacruz.org

What Is Love?
We want to show our participating families what love could look like when a community comes together to show support for those families who may be in more need than others. To show your love for our participating parents and their young children, please consider a tax-deductible donation, or email cristian@fitsantacruz.org to find other ways you can help!
