What Is Love?

2021 is bringing a new campaign centered around Valentines Day. We want to show our participating families what love could look like when a community comes together to show support for those families who may be in more need than others. The Human Race:

The Human race is the largest fundraising event in Santa Cruz County. Families In Transition has been participating in the yearly event since 2005. Although 2020’s event was unique due to the switch to a virtual event, Families In Transition was able to find great success, climbing to number 7 on the leaderboard for money raised out of a total 82 participating local nonprofits. Landlord Appreciation Event

Come let us celebrate you as a FIT landlord. If you’ve helped house any family who is enrolled in a Families In Transition program, or if you are a landlord looking to get more information to decide if this is a good opportunity for you to utilize, join us at our annual event, traditionally held at a local brewery. We will be able to answer any questions you may have about working with a rental assistance organization, you’ll get to mingle with other local landlords and property management companies, and we’ll buy you a beverage. The Strawberry Festival:

The Strawberry Festival is a yearly event that is held close to our hearts. With the event being held in our backyard, right next to our office building, we have come to celebrate this yearly tradition staff-wide. Our Strawberry-Dessert Kabobs have become a popular food item we have been able to bring to the event year after year. Turkey Guys

Each year, Families In Transition receives a generous and kindhearted donation from a group of friends we like to call “The Turkey Guys.” Year after year, this group of men come together to donate multiple meals to families who may otherwise not be able to get a warm thanksgiving dinner. Once delivered to one of FIT’s satellite locations, FIT staff members volunteer their time to distribute the meals to our participating families. Giving Tuesday

“GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
